Terms and Conditions

  1. If the client request a third party to work on any of the The Sol Energy (TSE) installations or alter the solar system in any way, it will void the warranty and guarantee of the system.
  2. Any equipment delivery depends on the availability of the stockist or distributor as the following few factors may impact the delivery time like public Riots, unnatural disasters, transport restrictions  or the supplier itself. Each client will be advised accordingly till stock is received.
  3. In the case of any fault or alarm going off on your solar system, the first point of contact will be The Sol Energy.
  4. If a client requests a call out from The Sol Energy team and the fault and that is not related to the solar PV system. A call out fee of R750 will be paid by client.
  5. By agreeing to our quotation and terms and conditions, we assume that any client’s roof tiles, roof structure is enough strong to handle the weight of our team to work and walk upon. Any damages or breakages of tiles prior to the commence of the installation will be highlighted by our team upfront. However, the client must realise that it will be at own risk and if any damages it will be the clients responsibility.
  6. The Client should have a valid CoC for the house before we start the installation. This must be emailed to us at info@thesolenergy.co.za before we start the installation. It is not our responsibility to request for the COC upfront but at the owns clients interest to mail to us or to inform us of his/her COC status.
  7. Once the installation is completed he is obliged to make final payment within 3 days. If the payment is delayed for more than 3 working days TSE will charge interest on the outstanding pending amount.
  8. Once the installation is completed and the client still fails to meet the 3 day requirement of payment and it exceeds over 5 days, the TSE team have the right to switch off the system via the inverter and once payment received the system will be switched on and in full working order.
  9. During the solar installation the load will be split into essential and non-essential. This is a precautioning in case there is a sub DB that can be connected to either essential or non-essential load. If client wants to connected some appliances on Sub-DB to essential and some to the non-essential. Please note, this action It will require to pool an extra cable and wiring. In this situation, the TSE  team will charge an extra amount  to cover the costs for the cable pooling and wiring work.
  10. The Client is advised to check each and every electrical point if in full working order. If there is any inconsistencies/ discrepancies then the client have 6 working days to inform the TSE team. After 6 working days a fee will be charged to move the load or rewire the DB board. The Fees may vary depending on the DB board type. Approx. R1500 as an estimated price.
  11. The sol energy do not take any responsibilities for badly wired DB set up or any house wiring thereafter. We will advise the client in writing and verbally of our restrictions and faults even if they received a COC from their previous supplier. The TSE team will install a full working system according to the SA regulations and will make sure the Solar system is in working order. If any discrepancies occur after we advised the clients of their incorrect wiring, then we will charge the client accordingly for a call out fee and to rewire to adapt to the solar system.
  12. When The sol energy works inside any area of the house and there is breakage or fault in the garage, garage door, roof, ceiling, garden, wall, window or any flooring area or any other part of the house fittings or fixtures.. The sol energy is not responsible and will not be held liable. However, note that the experience and expertise of the installations team is of quality workmanship, but the above is only applicable when it is unforeseen circumstances and unavoidable.
  13. In case the client changes his mind and wants to change the solar panels installation area from the initial location, or  wants a change in the type of mounting structure it will be charged separately and accordingly.
  14. The Sol Energy or TSE team will be facing all kinds of challenges on site so if we exceed the normal installations time as discussed with the client. We will advise accordingly.
  15. Our installations team will sometimes leave site to buy equipment or material that is needed on site and could not been foreseen as the site requirements develop as the installation proceeds.
  16. If the installation was done by another company and we added only solar panels, or only batteries. We will still not be responsible for the inverter and its warranty.
  17. Please note if there is any factory fault on any of our products, our supplier will not replace the product but will send it for complete hardware replacement and this will take a few weeks. However, if possible we will replace the product to our own discretion in order to satisfy our clients and uphold good client service.
  18. If the quoted material is out of stock or the distributor stops importing to South Africa, The Sol Energy may use a similar quality brand or material. In some cases, we may charge an additional cost for the price difference supplied by the distributor.
  19. If the client have any other complicated lighting, or electrical dimming switches or automatic systems prior to the installation and these systems do not have the necessary safety switches then The Sol Energy will not be held responsible for the damages of these systems. However, again our team are certified electricians and engineers and will always commit to quality workmanship. We can supply many references of clients with satisfied service delivery. If wiring is too complicated, we advise to client he call previous electrician to help our team.
  20. Please note, procurement of stock will only commence once deposit received, and we normally allow for 3-5 working days due to possible shortage in stock or smaller deliverables.
  21. If a client in any way adjusts the settings on the inverter without any notification to the engineer and the inverter or system is damaged in any way then The sol Energy cannot be held responsible. In a situation where the Engineer was notified but the client was not under supervision or requested the Engineer to do the adjustment him or herself, then the Sol energy cannot be held responsible for any damages to the equipment or solar system.
  22. The Sol energy can advise the client at short notice before an installation if a similar brand will be replaced by another brand due to shortages or price spikes. The client will be advised accordingly.
  23. Although our products – solar panels batteries, inverters are under warrantee, if any damages are made to these products by negligence, removal, or adjustment to another area without the Sol energy, we will not be held responsible.
  24. If any wires are adjusted, cut, or removed, replaced or any other componentry of the Solar system installed by the Sol Energy, we will not be held responsible for any damages.
  25. If the client have a generator set and want to connect it to inverter, either he can supply the required material, while we busy working on site. Or we can supply it at an extra cost. Once the installation is completed and the client wants to add  a generator set as a separate connection, then the extra cost will be charged.
  26. The Sol Energy will not be held responsible, moving existing materials, like solar geysers, previous older panels or inverters for the new equipment. The client will realise with doing so it will be at their own risk as the material might have had weather wear and tear or the areas damaged. Our team will only assist at the discretion of the engineer on site.
  27. Please note we have a highly trained team and the Engineer/supervisor on site will not always be on site but will move from site to site. The client is welcome to phone the Engineer if any queries occur.
  28. Once deposit paid by the client, the Sol energy might be detained and advised on a new installation date even though date was given before deposit was paid. All due to stock availability on equipment or smaller consumables. The sol energy will advise the client accordingly.
  29. If The Sol Energy agrees to pay for any unforeseen damages or repairs, then it will be our choice to use our own preferred supplier or installer. Or it will be done by our own team.
  30. If the client request for any modifications or extras on site or while installation is in progress that was never discussed or quoted for in the original quote and it requires more time from the team or causes a delay in the installation process. Then The Sol Energy will charge for the extra work/ modification and will discuss with the client accordingly.
  31. If the client do not agree with the design requirements of the solar system as per our Electrical Engineer and advises our team to make amendments while the installation is in progress. Then The Sol Energy will not take any responsibilities for any loss of solar consumption or any other problems occurring with the functionality of the system.
  32. If The Sol Energy is paying for any unforeseen damages or repairs, we will calculate the current value of the material and the amount will be adjusted according to the current value of goods.
  33. Once the installation is completed no outstanding money can be withheld until COC received as sometimes it takes a few days to issue COC.
  34. We request a client to share his CoC to The Sol Energy before we start the installation. If you fail to submit a valid CoC as per our request, you will have to request an electrician to redo any wiring as per NRS regulation and they will issue you a valid COC.
  35. If we might damage any roof tile or any other material on the roof or inside the house due to unforeseen circumstances not under our control, we will count its current value with material age. We will only reimburse the amount of the material valued as per the current day of damage or may the value that was paid at the time you initially purchased the goods. However, this is only valid if the original invoice is still kept. It all depends on our management team’s discretion.
  36. All material warranties/guarantees are issued directly from the manufacturers.
  37. If any componentry are faulty due to manufacturing default and The Sol Energy will send it for repairs or to be replaced, then we are not responsible to provide you the client with a loan unit. It is The Sol Energy choice if we want to offer you a loan unit or not.
